español II - viernes, el 27 de febrero

We did our warm-up with our stem-changing verbs, and then we corrected and handed in the two-page worksheet that was homework. We practiced our verbs and then took our verb quiz. We wrote and performed skits using our vocabulary and verbs from chapter 1A - very dramatic! Homework is workbook pages 13 - 14. Exam on unit 1A is next Wednesday; don't forget to study!

español II - jueves, el 26 de febrero

Warm-up: we practiced our reflexive verbs, and then we corrected and handed in our homework. With our new partners, we worked on the verbs by practicing their forms, meanings and uses aloud and in writing. We did some more practice quizzes like tomorrow's quiz, and then we did a yellow review packet about stem-changing verbs with our new study groups. Homework: a 2-sided worksheet reviewing the information in chapter 1A, including verbs. Tomorrow's quiz: know all verbs on both sides of our new verb sheet (the one with pensar), and be able to write conjugations out with correct spelling.

Hoy repasamos la tarea y la entregamos. Luego, discutimos qué objetos pondríamos en una cápsula de tiempo, en parejas, y discutimos juntos, toda la clase, también. Empezamos las charlas de "un problema para resolver" y vamos a continuar con ellas mañana. Tarea: L M N en capítulo 4.

español II - miércoles, el 25 de febrero

Warm-up: we practiced our new verbs, and then we did question and answer practice with the verbs with a new partner. After that, we read our poster biographies in small groups, and some Stars shared with the whole class. Then, we practiced our verbs with Lotería (Bingo) and then again with Battleship, in pairs. We have a worksheet tonight which is practicing the verbs and their meanings and forms. Quiz Friday over all of the new verbs on our verb sheet, both sides.

Hoy corregimos y entregamos la tarea, y luego leímos La camisa de Margarita, y contestamos las preguntas de qué pasó. Mañana vamos a acabar nuestro repaso de esas preguntas, y también vamos a discutir el cuento un poco más. Tarea: IJK de capítulo 4, usando el pretérito, y mañana empezamos una nueva charla. Mañana presentan Graciela, Lupe y Juana, y esta charla es acerca de un problema (universal/mundial, etc.) y posibles soluciones.

Today our warm-up was practicing our new stem-changing verbs. Then, we corrected our two-sided worksheet, and turned it in. We sat with new partners and practiced our verbs, and we added 5 more verbs and their forms to our verb grid. We practiced with the Dice Game, to learn all of the conjugations. We also practiced with a gold Question/Answer practice activity, and then we did a listening activity in our workbooks and handed in those pages. Homework tonight: Textbook page 13, make a Diamond Poem, colorful, using all of the elements described on that page, to present in a small group. Friday: quiz on verb forms from our verb sheet.

Practicamos los verbos de capítulo 3, y tomamos la prueba sobre ese capítulo. Luego oímos unas charlas, y tuvimos tarea del capítulo 4: A B C sobre el pretérito.

Practicamos los nuevos verbos, y tuvimos una "tertulia" como el precaliento para empezar clase. Luego corregimos/repasamos y entregamos nuestra tarea, e hicimos conversaciones con tarjetas acerca de los personajes en Una sortija para mi novia. La tarea esta noche es E F G H en capítulo 4.

We practiced our new verbs, added verbs to our verb sheet, did two conversation practice activities with our partners, and then had our vocabulary quiz. Homework was a worksheet, due on Monday.

Warm-up: we practiced our new vocabulary, and then we corrected our 15 sentences and read them to our partners. We practiced all of our new vocabulary and verbs with several activities, including a conversation partner-gap activity and a Dot Game. We wrote in the rest of the front side of the new verb sheet, looked at our quiz from Friday, and talked about study techniques to be prepared for future quizzes. Homework is a worksheet, and we started each section. Quiz this Friday on the verbs that "stem-change" that we have on our new verb sheet - know the spelling and meanings.

Warm-up: we practiced answering questions with our vocabulary, and then we corrected and handed in our homework. We practiced vocabulary with a new partner, and then we learned a set of new StemChanging verbs. We wrote in the new verbs on our new verb sheet, and then we watched our video that goes with the book. We re-read and translated the book's script for the dvd, and then we did three pages of comprehension exercises from our workbook. We have a new worksheet due tomorrow AND there's a spelling quiz over page 40 vocabulary.

Warm-up: we practiced p. 40 vocabulary, and then we corrected our crossword, our -ar verb worksheet, and our blue map activity from yesterday. We handed all of those in, and then worked with a new partner on vocabulary from p. 40. We learned new information from the book on pages 18, 10, 22 and 23, and practiced about 8 oral conversations with our partner. Then, we got our workbooks and did three listening activities and handed those in. Homework: New worksheet which we started in class

español V - martes, el 17 de febrero

Hoy repasamos los verbos de capítulo 3 de Repaso, y practicamos las formas y los significados en el precaliento y en apuntes. Repasamos y entregamos la tarea (era una hoja), y luego tuvimos pequeñas conversaciones con el compañero de hoy/llama. Repasamos toda la historia de Una sortija en Album, y contestamos y entregamos las pregunas de Qué pasó, en forma escrita. Oímos un par de charlas, y la tarea es utilizar la lista de verbos de capítulo 3 para crear 15 frases ORIGINALES, usando el presente.

Warm-up: we practiced our new 1A chapter vocabulary, and then we corrected and turned in the worksheet packet, pages 5-7. We got new Clock Partners for partner work, and then we practiced fluency questions/answers, and then vocabulary flashcards with our partners today. We worked on a geography worksheet with questions about South America in Spanish, and our homework is to do the other side (capitals + countries) and also do the additional -ar verb review worksheet as homework. Don't forget your book; it has to be with you, and covered, every day. :-)

Warm-up: we learned vocabulary about Romance y Amor! We corrected last night's homework (the map packet), and practiced all of the capitals and countries with the Capital Rap. We practiced with our page 40 vocabulary flashcards for chapter 1A, and then we practiced the vocabulary again with a crossword puzzle. It's due on Tuesday, along with the packet, pages 5-7 of worksheets. Use pages 14-15 in the book for help with that homework packet. Next week: quiz over countries and capitals, and also a spelling test on page 40 vocabulary.

We worked on and corrected our new verb packet from class yesterday, and then we worked with partners to practice with our new vocabulary flashcards. We reviewed how to tell time, with clocks and a worksheet packet. Then, we started our Map Packet, filling in all of the countries and capitals of Spanish-speaking countries, and geography of those places. Homework - finish work on map packet.

We did a practice and review activity with translation cards in groups, and then we took our Para empezar chapter quiz, and started filling in new vocabulary. Homework for tomorrow: fill in the list of words, and make a set of flashcards for Thursday.

Hoy acabamos con las cajas, y repasamos la hoja de tarea. Recibimos una nueva hoja, y oímos dos charlas acerca de libros. La prueba mañana es sobre las formas y significados de los verbos de capítulo 1 del libro Repaso. El pizarrón tiene ahora una lista de las charlas, con tu nombre y qué día vas a presentar tu informe de libro.

Warm-up: we practiced our vocabulary and verbs and practiced answering questions. We corrected our homework worksheet, and then worked with partners to practice with our flashcards, practice with the gold question/answer practice sheet, and create conversations with role-play situation cards. We reviewed verbs and question words with the textbook, using pages 6 -12, practicing nationalities and all of our grammar. We did a listening activity about nationalities and activities, for 5 oral points, and received a study-review guide over what to study for tomorrow's quiz, and a homework worksheet translating questions.

We did a warm-up with our adjectives and nationalities, and then we corrected and handed in the PW pages 3-4 worksheet. We practiced interview questions with a partner, and then we created and presented introduction skits about our hobbies and activities. Homework is a new worksheet, and there is a quiz next Tuesday over all pages 2-12 in our book, including verbs, vocabulary, adjectives, nationalities, and question words.

español II - jueves, el 5 de febrero

Warm-up: we practiced SER and SER DE with nationalities and countries. We worked with partners on our vocabulary and verbs, and we did an oral "gap" conversation activity, finding out where people were from on a map. We also sang the weather and seasons song, and practiced all of our new vocabulary and some of the food vocabulary from Spanish 1. We played LOTERIA with -ar verbs, and prizes! You can always donate candy, etc. to my prize basket! The homework is a worksheet, PW 3-4. QUIZ next Tuesday over all of what we've been learning in the book, pages 2-13 (adjectives, verbs and vocabulary).

español V - miércoles, el 4 de febrero

Hoy practicamos los nuevos verbos de capítulo 1 de Repaso, y corregimos y entregamos la tarea. Luego, practicamos inventando situaciones fantásticas y mágicas, y creamos situaciones dramáticas acerca de ellas. Empezamos una lección acerca de la pronunciación, e hicimos la mitad del paquete, practicando la manera correcta para pronunciar las palabras. La tarea es K, L y P de capítulo 1 de Repaso, y vamos a presentar las Cajas acerca de mí mañana.

Warm-up: we practiced our new vocabulary with a fill-in the blank practice, then we went over our vocabulary and reviewed pronunciation and all of the nationalities. We took notes on adjective forms and practiced them, we filled in a vocabulary crossword puzzle with the words from our vocabulary list, and we filled in the rest of the front of the verb sheet. We played The Dot Game with our verb forms as a practice and review activity, and we sang/spoke along with a FAST rap about countries and nationalities. We did speaking and reading activities from our book on pages 2, 3, 6 and 7, and we have a homework worksheet tonight. ALSO tonight: cover your book, and organize your binder for tomorrow. Flashcards are also due; they were assigned two days ago.

Warm-up: we listed words in different categories, and then we reviewed more of our gold vocabulary packet. We practiced pronunciation from a new list of vocabulary from our book's first chapter, and we did a yellow worksheet about our book, finding different information. We took notes on verb forms and subject pronouns, and started filling in our new verb sheet. Homework: fill in the list of words on the vocabulary list, and have the flashcards completed by Thursday.

Hoy hicimos unas prácticas de Repaso, y unas actividades orales con nuevo vocabulario. Leímos Una carta a Dios, y contestamos las preguntas de "qué pasó," en forma escrita. Luego, empezamos una actividad de conversación en parejas, planeando un exilio a una isla desierta, y decidiendo qué empacar. TAREA: C, D y E de páginas 7 y 8 en Repaso. Para jueves: prepararse para presentar la Caja acerca de mí.

Hoy recibimos hojas acerca del curso, e información acerca de lo que vamos a hacer. Recogimos nuestros dos libros en la biblioteca, y entrevistamos a un compañero, y luego se lo presentamos a la clase entera. TAREA: una pequeña autobiografía de 1/2 página, y llenar la hoja verde.

WELCOME TO SPANISH 2!!! Today, we got our class syllabus and learned the classroom rules, then we had a quiz on those rules. We spoke with partners and reviewed vocabulary for 10 different topics, on butcher paper posters. We received a packet of level 1 vocabulary to review, and we checked out our Spanish 2 books.
HOMEWORK: have your parents sign the syllabus, "bookmark" this blogspot URL, cover your textbook, and get your binder or a section in one organized for tomorrow! Hasta mañana.
