español III - jueves, el 30 de septiembre
Today we worked on our verbs and vocabulary, and then we got our assignment for our poster project, due next Wednesday. Composition + poster! We also have a partner project to present tomorrow, about a disastrous adventure. Homework is pages 11-12 in our workbook, and next week there will be a map quiz on Tuesday, spelling and identifying all of the countries and capitals where Spanish is spoken.

Today we practiced our verbs and added some more to our verb sheet, and we read the video story and did a green video comprehension packet. We did several listening activities for oral participation points, and we also practiced our vocabulary flashcards. We have a new worksheet for homework tonight. Next Tuesday: map quiz, knowing countries where Spanish is spoken AND their capitals. Next Thursday: verb quiz over all of the new stem-changing verbs and their forms.

Today we learned more stem-changing verbs, and we wrote them on our verb sheet. We also practiced our vocabulary, and we watched the video story that goes with our chapter and answered comprehension questions. Tonight's homework is Workbook pages 8, 9, 10.

Today we practiced our vocabulary, learned vocabulary and read about camping, "went on a camping trip and I'm bringing (memory game" and we also reviewed more preterite/past tense verbs. We also did a crossword puzzle and played with a beach ball, and our homework is a two-page packet practicing pages 14-18 vocabulary. TRIVIA QUESTION: What's the famous OLD thing that the Romans built that is in the city of Segovia? Bring a picture, post it behind the screen to be in the prize drawing.

Today we worked on our vocabulary for chapter 1A, and we took notes on "stem-changing verbs" and how they change in the middle of the verb. We practiced their forms, and we read new vocabulary about school in our book. We also worked on a crossword puzzle over p.40 vocabulary, and we got our workbooks. Homework tonight is the next 3 pages in the workbook, and also to finish the crossword puzzle. TRIVIA QUESTION: how do you say "three-toed sloth" in Spanish, and what do they look like (photo!) and where do they live?

Today we reviewed the preterite, writing in lots of verbs in the simple-past form on our new pink (pink is for PAST TENSE) verb sheet. We also practiced our vocabulary and did a flashcard "password" game practicing the "A ver si recuerdas" vocabulary from the front of the chapter. Homework: new vocabulary list from the BACK of unit 1.

We played "slap the desk" with picture flashcards, and we also reviewed how to tell time, with a worksheet packet and mini-clocks. Homework: yellow worksheet, use pages 14-15 in our book, and ALSO study your vocabulary from the other list.

Today we reviewed our verbs,learned about travel in Costa Rica and the Amigos program, and we also took our chapter test over "Para empezar." Homework is to fill in our new vocabulary list with the words at the beginning of the next chapter. ¡Hasta lunes!

español III - jueves, el 23 de septiembre
Today we practiced our verbs, we did a listening activity, and we played two review games. Tomorrow's exam is over all of the verbs and vocabulary from pages 2-13, and our handouts, including present tense of stem-changing and reflexive verbs. Tarea: a new worksheet that is OPTIONAL (because not everyone got a copy!), so we'll do it first thing before our test on Friday.

Today we practiced all of our verbs, took notes on stem-changers, reviewed and corrected everything in our packet, and we also practiced all forms and meanings of reflexive verbs. We read a section in our book, and practiced with flashcards. Homework is a new worksheet, and we will have our chapter test this Friday.

Today we reviewed everything for our chapter test. It's over pages 2-13, and all of the material on the review sheet we got this week. We corrected and handed in our homework, and we practiced all of our verbs and vocabulary, and re-read the exercises and reading sections in our book. We also learned about travel to Costa Rica, and we took practice vocabulary quizzes with our partners. We shared our posters from p.13 in our book, in small groups and some of them were STARS, showing the whole class. STUDY for your test, over all handouts, verbs, vocabulary and textbook pages 2-13.

Hoy practicamos MUCHAS preguntas. First, we interviewed each other, then we practiced asking lots of questions and forming them, and then we discussed our likes and dislikes. We read movie reviews and described movies and guessed which ones, and we reviewed reflexive and indirect object pronoun verbs. Homework: a review packet over our chapter. TEST this Friday over pages 2-13 in our book, all verbs and their forms.

Today we practiced lots of questions and translation sentences with our partner, as well as small conversations. We corrected and turned in our worksheet that was the homework, and we did a practice translation game to review our chapter. We have homework tonight; it's a packet with three pages of practice. TOMORROW: bring your poster (p.13 in our book explains this assignment) and be ready to read it, and also have the homework packet done. TRIVIA QUESTION: write "hello" in another language, put it behind the screen, and write which language it is, for a drawing from the prize basket!

Today we practiced pages 8 - 10 in our book, talking about special occasions and how often we do things. We also interviewed each other and other students about our activities, and we had a huge "pronoun" review and took notes. Then, we did an oral and written practice activity, and our homework is Workbook pages 4-6

Today we reviewed our vocabulary and verbs, and took a practice quiz. We did some verb practice in our book, and we also wrote answers on a listening worksheet, while listening to some comprehension exercises. We practiced a song with nationalities and countries, and we practiced our weather and seasons vocabulary. Homework tonight is a worksheet, AND, do page 13 in the book (small poster) for Wednesday. Thursday is the quiz over pages 2-13 in our book: know how to spell all verbs and vocabulary.

We practiced conversations and questions and answers, and then did a signature gathering activity about each other, to find out about other students in the class. We also practiced our vocabulary, and our homework is a two-sided worksheet reviewing reflexive verbs and other structures and vocabulary from our chapter (Para empezar)

Today we practiced more verbs, especially the stem-changers, and we reviewed "quehaceres" in our book with a conversation activity. We also practiced more interview questions, and we reviewed where all of the countries are that speak Spanish. We played a "Lotería" game with stem-changing verbs, and our homework is a new worksheet packet with our present tense verbs.

We practiced our verbs today, writing out the forms of a lot of -ar verbs on our verb sheet, and we also had a lot of vocabulary and conversation practice. We practiced our nationalities and countries in our book, and we have a new worksheet to do as homework tonight. We did several activities in our book, practicing conversations in the present tense about ourselves and our activities.
